Layouts
Browse static and Motion layouts, preview their media and output requirements, and save reusable versions of static designs.
Overview
Layouts define the structure of your presentation. Static layouts place images, text, and panels on a card. Motion layouts also define media regions, timing, animation, silent MP4 delivery, and PNG poster settings.
Navigate to Showmo > Layouts to view all layouts available to your account.
Finding a Layout
Use Search layouts to find a layout by name or description. The colored source buttons provide quick access to NowRep, Agency, and Saved layouts. Select Advanced Filter to narrow the library by source, use case, orientation, or image-slot count. Filters update the library immediately. The filter button shows how many choices are active; select Clear to remove them or Done to close the dialog.
Motion designs appear in the same library with a Motion badge. Their cards show the number of video and image regions plus the presentation duration.
When no layout matches, clear the search or active filters to return to the full library.
Layout Types

NowRep Layouts
NowRep layouts are available to every account, with Premium designs offering the most editorial presentation options.

Motion Layouts
Three Premium NowRep Motion layouts are available:

Each layout uses one continuous hero film with authored media, field, and agency branding moments. The layout controls the timeline and animation. You control the eligible media, focal points, video Start From, editable fields, exposed brand colors and agency logo. Delivery is fixed to a silent MP4 with a high-quality PNG poster.
Layout Previews
Each layout card shows a visual preview of the finished composition:
- NowRep and Agency layouts use curated previews when available, with a structural preview as a fallback.
- Saved layouts display a captured preview of the card from when the layout was last saved, including its image and text styling.
- Motion layouts show a renderer-created poster. Open the preview to play a muted video and review its aspect, duration, video and image regions, outputs, and editable fields. Reduced-motion preferences keep the preview still until you play it.
Layouts with a back side show a front/back toggle button in the preview. Click it to flip between the front and back.
Default Layout
Set any static or Motion layout as the account default that auto-loads whenever you open Compose without choosing a design.
Setting a Default
- Open the Layouts page
- Click the action menu (three dots) on any layout
- Select "Set as default"
A confirmation appears when the change is complete. A gold star badge indicates the current default layout. To clear the default, open its action menu and select "Remove as default".
When no default is set, the system picks the first available layout.
Saving Layouts
You can save your current static card configuration as a reusable layout from Compose. This lets you preserve style choices so you do not have to reconfigure them each time.
Motion layouts keep their authored timing and structure, so Save Layout is not available for Motion. Save a private draft to preserve a Motion composition.
How to Save
- Click Save Layout in the Compose toolbar
- Enter a name for the layout
- Leave Default Fields unchanged to show every editable field, or expand it and turn off fields that should start blank when the layout loads
- Select Save Layout to create a reusable layout. When editing a saved layout you created, choose Update Layout or Save a Copy
What's Saved
- The full card layout with any style overrides baked in (fonts, colors, positions)
- Image repositioning (focal points) as default positions for each slot
- Background color override (if set)
- Default field choices (all fields are shown by default; fields you turn off start blank but can still be filled manually in Compose)
- A captured screenshot of the current card preview for the layout card thumbnail
What's NOT Saved
- Talent-specific data — the layout always pulls fresh data from whichever talent is selected
- Specific Portfolio or image assignments — the auto-mapping chain resolves images on each use
