Custom Attributes
Create and manage custom attribute groups to capture agency-specific information on talent profiles.
Overview
Custom attributes allow you to extend talent profiles with fields specific to your agency. They appear as additional sections in both the talent edit form and the talent profile.
NowRep includes three system attribute groups that work similarly to custom groups:
- Measurements – Physical measurements (height, bust, waist, etc.)
- Preferences – Work preferences, availability, and travel settings
- Documents – Passport, visa, contracts, and other files
You can also create your own custom attribute groups to capture any additional information your agency needs.
How Custom Attributes Appear
In the Edit Form
Custom attribute groups appear as sections in the talent edit form, accessible via the side navigation. Each group becomes its own card with all its fields displayed together.
On the Profile
Custom attributes display on the talent profile page, showing field labels with their values. Multi-select fields appear as chips/tags.
Field Types
When configuring custom attributes, you can choose from these field types:
| Type | Description | Example Use |
|---|---|---|
| Text | Single-line text input | Agent name, brand restrictions |
| Textarea | Multi-line text input | Special notes, detailed preferences |
| Number | Numeric value | Travel radius, years of experience |
| Select | Single choice from a dropdown | Union status, experience level |
| Multi-select | Multiple choices from options | Preferred work types, skills |
| Boolean | Yes/No checkbox | Has passport, available weekends |
| Date | Date picker | Certification expiration, contract date |
Editing Custom Attributes
Custom attributes are edited through the talent edit form:
- Open the talent's profile
- Click Edit in the action menu
- Navigate to the custom attribute section in the side navigation
- Fill in or update the fields
- Click Save to save all changes
Required fields are marked with an asterisk (*) and must be filled before saving.
Configuring Custom Attributes
Account administrators can create and manage custom attribute groups in Settings.
Accessing Attribute Settings
- Go to Settings → Talent
- Scroll past Talent Types to the Custom Attribute Groups section
- You'll see both system groups and any custom groups you've created
System Attribute Groups
The three system groups (Measurements, Preferences, Documents) have predefined fields. You can control their visibility:
- Show on profile – Display this section on talent profile pages
- Show on form – Include this section in the talent edit form
Creating a Custom Group
- In Settings → Talent, scroll to the Custom Attribute Groups section and click Add Group
- Enter a group name (e.g., "Travel Preferences", "Performance Skills")
- Add fields with appropriate types and options
- Configure which fields are required
- Save the group
Field Configuration Options
For each field, you can set:
- Label – The display name shown to users
- Type – One of the field types above
- Options – For Select and Multi-select, the available choices
- Required – Whether the field must be filled
- Help text – Optional guidance shown below the field
Managing Groups
- Reorder – Drag groups to change their display order
- Edit – Modify group name, fields, or visibility settings
- Deactivate – Hide a group without deleting it (preserves existing data)
- Delete – Permanently remove a group and its data
Example: Preferences System Group
The built-in Preferences group demonstrates how custom attributes work:
Travel Section:
- Willing to Travel (Select: Local, Regional, National, International)
- Travel Radius (Number, in miles)
- Has Valid Passport (Boolean)
Availability & Transportation:
- Available Weekends (Boolean)
- Available Evenings (Boolean)
- Has Driver's License (Boolean)
- Has Own Vehicle (Boolean)
Work Preferences:
- Union Status (Select: Non-Union, SAG-AFTRA, etc.)
- Rate Preference (Text)
- Preferred Work Types (Multi-select: Print, Runway, Commercial, Editorial, etc.)
This structure—grouping related fields with descriptive labels—is the pattern to follow when creating your own custom attribute groups.
