Customization
Customize static showcards and adjust the allowed media, fields, brand colors, and agency logo controls in Motion layouts.
Overview
Compose offers layout-specific controls for static and Motion presentations. Static layouts support detailed text styling, logo replacement, image repositioning, and background changes. Motion layouts keep their authored design while exposing selected media, content, and branding controls.
Customizations apply only to the current composition and do not modify the Talent profile. You can save static customizations as a reusable layout. Save Motion changes in a private draft instead.
Text Styling
Customize the appearance of any text element on the card via the Style panel.
Opening the Style Panel
Click the paintbrush icon on any field row in the Fields tab to open the Style panel for that text element.
Available Controls
| Control | Range | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Font Family | Bundled collection | Choose from the available sans-serif, serif, display, script, and monospace typefaces |
| Font Size | 8-250px | Slider control |
| Weight | Light through Extra-Bold | Dropdown (300-800) |
| Italic | On / Off | Toggle button |
| Color | Any hex color | Color picker + hex text input |
| Letter Spacing | -2 to 20px | Slider control |
| Vertical Position | Up / Down | Nudge text rows up or down (10px per click) to close gaps or adjust spacing |
Behavior
- Changes update the preview in real-time
- Style changes are per-card, not per-talent — they apply only to this Showmo
- Style overrides are preserved when switching talents — they're treated as style choices rather than data
- The Reset button clears all style changes for that text element
- The panel closes when clicking outside it or pressing the X button
Tip: Fields that share the same row on the card (e.g., measurements: height, bust, waist, hips, shoe size) are grouped together with a single shared Style button. Styling one affects the entire row.
Agency Logo Replacement
For certain text fields (typically the Agency Name), you can replace the text with your account's logo image. This is useful for agencies whose brand identity is logo-first rather than text-first.
How to Use
- Open the Style panel for an eligible field (e.g., "Agency Name" or "Agency Name (Back)")
- Check "Use agency logo" at the top of the panel
- The text is replaced with your account's logo on the canvas preview
- Use the Logo Size slider (25%-200%) to adjust how large the logo appears
- Use the Vertical Position nudge to fine-tune placement
Notes
- The toggle only appears for fields the layout has marked as logo-eligible
- The toggle is hidden if your account hasn't uploaded a logo — set the logo in Settings > General
- When logo mode is on, text-specific controls (font, color, weight, spacing, italic) are hidden since they don't apply to an image
- Invert logo colors — an additional checkbox appears below the Logo Size slider. When checked, the logo colors are inverted (negative). This is useful when you've changed the background to a dark color and the logo is also dark.
- Logo mode (including inversion and scale) is saved with drafts and applied to the created output
Image Repositioning
Control how each image is cropped and positioned within a static card slot.
How to Access
Hover over any filled image slot in the Image Slots section and click the Move icon.
Controls
| Control | Description |
|---|---|
| Drag to pan | Click or touch and drag within the preview to shift the crop region. The image moves opposite to the drag direction (like panning a map). |
| Position controls | Use the arrow buttons to make precise adjustments or select the center control to restore a centered focal point. |
| Keyboard | Focus the preview and press an arrow key to move the focal point. Hold Shift for a larger step. |
| Zoom | Use the slider or enter an exact percentage. Above 100% zooms in for a tighter crop. Below 100% shrinks the image within the slot, showing the layout background as padding. 100% is the default cover-fit. |
| Reset | Restores the default centered crop at 100% zoom |
| Apply | Confirms the repositioning and updates the canvas preview |
Tip: Repositioning is preserved when saving drafts and resuming later. Both the canvas preview and the created output honor the same position.
Motion Media Adjustment
Motion layouts let you adjust the media inside each authored video or image region without changing the layout's timing or structure.
How to Access
- Open the Source tab in a Motion composition
- Assign eligible media to a video or image region
- Click Adjust beside that region
Controls
| Control | Description |
|---|---|
| Position | Use the arrow buttons to move the media within the authored crop. Focus the preview and use arrow keys for keyboard adjustment; hold Shift for a larger step. |
| Zoom | Use the slider or enter an exact percentage from 25% to 300%. |
| Start From | For supported video regions, choose where the source video begins. The maximum keeps enough footage for the complete authored presentation. |
| Reset | Restore the region's layout-defined focal point, zoom, and video start point. |
| Apply | Confirm the adjustment and update the Motion preview. |
The same focal point, zoom, and Start From values are used in saved drafts, the proofing preview, rendered silent MP4, and PNG poster.
Motion Fields and Branding
Open the Fields tab to edit the content and branding exposed by the Motion layout.
- Content fields start with Talent or agency data. Type an override for this composition, or click Reset to restore the original value.
- Brand controls expose only the colors chosen by the layout designer. Use the color picker or enter a complete six-digit hex value.
- Agency Logo shows the account logo in the authored logo region when the layout supports it. Add the logo in Settings > General if the option is unavailable.
Motion font choices, text geometry, media regions, cue timing, animations, and transitions remain locked. To preserve your allowed changes, click Save Draft.
Background Color
Override the current side's layout background color to match your agency's branding.
How to Access
Click the color swatch + paintbrush icon in the canvas toolbar (between the front/back toggle and the zoom controls).
Controls
- Color picker — Native browser color picker for visual selection
- Hex input — Type a specific hex color (e.g.,
#1a1a2e) for precise control - Reset to layout default — Appears when a custom color is set; one click restores the original background
Behavior
- Changing the background color updates the selected side's canvas background and matching solid-colored panels. Accent elements retain their original color.
- Front and back background overrides are independent
- Switching layouts resets the background override because each layout has its own default
- Background color overrides are preserved when saving drafts and baked into saved layouts
- The created output (PNG + PDF) reflects the custom background color
